Biography
Set up in 1990 to attract outside film makers to shoot in Scotland. Initial funding from virtually all the local authorities in Scotland and Scottish Film Council. SSL maintains a database of possible film locations and acts as the first stop for film makers considering Scotland as a location to shoot their film or television programme.
In 1997 SSL was absorbed into Scottish Screen, which in turn formed part of Creative Scotland in 2007.
