Evans, in retirement, undertook work for the Murrays both in an editorial and in an advisory capacity, particularly on works relating to Classics and religion. Evans had also a keen interest in the history of the Napoleonic Wars, particularly in the Battle of Waterloo, to which the letters contain references.The letters are arranged chronologically.1903: folios 1-65;1904: folios 66-99....
