Letters to and from William MacLellan, Rev. John Mackechnie, the Duke of Argyll, Charles Hepburn (from whom a loan of money was obtained) and legal agents, concerning the increasingly acrimonious negotiations over Mackechnie's edition of the Dewar Manuscripts, vol. 1. William MacLellan's company went into administration in 1969.

Papers of the Rev. John Mackechnie, concerning mainly his unpublished edition of the poetry of Iain Lom. The collection also includes a series of chapters of his online correspondence course, 'Sgoil Eòlais na h-Alba', some correspondence of his publisher William MacLellan, and some miscellaneous papers.

Each instruction sheet consists of a chapter of several pages. Some sheets are dated 1945; most bear no date.
