Scope and Contents
The contents are as follows:
(i) Addresses, 1835, undated, of an unidentified R D Murray to a St Stephen's Society, on such subjects as the advantages of public education, poetry, phrenology, etc. (folio 1);
(ii) Class cards, lecture notes (mostly on legal subjects), and copies of the regulations for Dollar Academy, with excerpts from the sederunt books of the trustees, 1826 (folio 97);
(iii) Various short prose pieces, chiefly nineteenth century, including excerpts from diaries of R D Murray, and an essay entitled 'The experience of a young woman in her own words' (folio 157);
(iv) Poems and verses, eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, chiefly without any indication of authorship. (folio 181);
(v) Keys to some ciphers used in letters dealing with political matters, seventeenth and eighteenth centuries (folio 237).
