 Item
Identifier: MS.7125

Scope and Contents

The contents are as follows:

(i) Calendar, including Saints Photin (2 June) and (in red) Nisier (2 April) and Annemont (28 September), all bishops of Lyons, and Claude, archbishop of Besançon (6 June) (folio 1); (ii) Gospel of St John, I, 1-14 (folio 13); (iii) Hours of the Virgin (folio 15); (iv) Hours of the Cross (folio 63); (v) Hours of the Holy Ghost (folio 66 verso); (vi) Penitential Psalms (folio 71); (vii) Litany (including Saints Annemont twice, Nisier and Just) and Supplications (folio 82 verso); (viii) Les Quinze Joies de Notre Dame (folio 87); (ix) 'Les sept requestes' (folio 87 verso); (x) 'Obsecro te' and other prayers (folio 89 verso).

Lacking leaves after folios 86 and 90. Matins, Lauds and Prime of the Hours of the Virgin, the Hours of the Cross, the Hours of the Holy Ghost, and the Penitential Psalms are preceded by miniatures with borders of foliage, representing the Annunciation (folio 15), the Visitation (folio 25), the Nativity (folio 35), the Crucifixion (folio 63), Pentecost (folio 66 verso), and, presumably, David in prayer (folio 71); spaces for miniatures have been left at the beginnings of Terce, Sext, None, Vespers and Compline of the Hours of the Virgin (folios 44, 47 verso, 50 verso, 54, 59). At folio 25 verso 'inductus est' (written twice) appears instead of 'indutus est'. The letters 'IA' appear at the end of the Gospel (folio 14) and the Hours of the Virgin (folio 62 verso).
