Identifier: Adv.MS.84.1.22

Scope and Contents

The portions of text visible in the vellum fragments appear to relate to the Creation, or to the events related in Genesis. The names of Ambrose (twice) and Augustine are mentioned, possibly for purposes of citation.

All the items were recovered from the binding of a copy (pressmark K.66.d) of ‘Orationum uolumen primum [-tertium]’ (Parisiis, 1543), by Cicero. The vellum fragments had been used as binding strips; two of the paper leaves, containing a number of unintelligible inscriptions in 16th-century hands, were the front and back pastedowns; and the other 18 blank leaves were used instead of boards to make the covers of the volume.
