Scope and Contents

Sir Robert Perks was Member of Parliament for Louth from 1892 to 1910 and treasurer of the Liberal League from its formation in 1902. The letters of the early 1900s until 1910 are chiefly concerned with the work of the Liberal League and nonconformist views on current political questions, with some related news cuttings. The later correspondence is of a more personal nature although current affairs are still mentioned. Perks also writes of his work for and interest in the Methodist church.
