Scope and Contents

The letters are to John Murray III. They mostly concern the preparation and publication of various works on architectural history by Fergusson, including:

“A history of architecture in all countries, from the earliest times to the present day” (second edition, 1874);

“The temples of the Jews and the other buildings in the Haram area at Jerusalem” (1878).

The letters are arranged chronologically.
