Gregory, James.

Letters, 1810, concerning the publication of a review in the “Annual Medical Review” of a work on “the medical controversy at Edinburgh” by James Gregory. James and John Ballantyne were discomforted by the knowledge that the book, which was being printed by J. Ballantyne and Co., had not been fully printed at the time of the review, and that John Murray II must have been the source through which the work was made available to the reviewer.

Gregory, John Walter.

The letters are to John Murray IV and Hallam Murray. They mostly concern the preparation and publication of Gregory’s, “The Great Rift Valley” (1896). Also recorded is Gregory’s intention to publish an account of his expedition to Lake Eyre: subsequently published as “The dead heart of Australia” (1906).
