Scope and Contents
This manuscript includes letters, 1850-1885, of Richard Monckton Milnes, 1st Baron Houghton, to John Murray III. They concern various publications of his, including “Selections from the poetical works of R.M. Milnes” and “Monographs, personal and social”.
Is also includes letters of Robert Crewe-Milnes, Marquess of Crewe, formerly Baron Houghton, to John Murray IV. These concern his work “Stray verses”, with mention also of his father’s poetical works.
All the letters are arranged alphabetically by correspondent and by date under each name.
