The letters are to John Murray II and John Murray III. They concern Thomas Mitchell’s literary and political interests, and his editing of various classical texts, including “The Acharnenses of Aristophanes” (1835) and “The Wasps of Aristophanes” (1835). The letters also indicate Mitchell’s familiar association with the Murrays.
