Scope and Contents
The letters appear to be to John Murray IV. They concern mostly the preparation and publication of two works by George Peel, “The enemies of England” (1902) and “The friends of England” (1905). They record Peel’s comments concerning the slips for the chapter on the life and character of his grandfather, Sir Robert Peel, that he contributed to volume III of “Sir Robert Peel from his private papers” (1899), edited by Charles Parker.
