Scope and Contents

The letters are to John Murray IV and mostly concern Prothero’s editorship of the “Quarterly Review”. They are arranged chronologically.

1905-1911: folios 1-209.

[Note 1] Folios 38-39. Letter, 6 February 1907, of Francis Darwin to George Prothero in answer to a letter of Prothero suggesting that Darwin might like to consider producing annotated editions of the works of his father, Charles Darwin. The letter was sent as an enclosure to Prothero’s letter to John Murray IV of 8 February 1907 (folios 36-37).
