Scope and Contents
Letters, 1874-1879, of Heinrich Schliemann to John Murray III, with some letters to Robert Cooke and with related letters and papers. The letters concern works of his published by Murray, including the English language edition of “Trojanische Alterthümer”, and “Mycenae”. Some letters reveal the controversy surrounding his work and his efforts to respond to criticisms, and also details of his continuing excavations.
