Letter, 18 December 1852, of Joseph Whitaker to Robert Cooke concerning plan to start a magazine “The Churchman’s Magazine”, enclosing pamphlet “A few thoughts on magazine literature as it affects The Church of England: in a letter to a country clergyman” in which he outlines proposed guiding principles for the editor of “The Churchman’s Magazine”. Folios 29-36.

Letter, 23 April 1873, of Joseph Whitaker to John Murray III suggesting that Murray should add to his series of travel handbooks a new title, “A guide to the chief battle fields of Europe”. Folios 37-38.

Letters, 1812-1819, of Thomas Whitaker to John Murray II. They concern various matters including the preparation and publication of Whitaker’s edition of the “Visio Willi de Petro Plouhman, item Visiones ejusdem de Dowel, Dobet, et Dobest: or, The vision of William concerning Peirs Plouhman [sic], and the visions of the same concerning the origin, progress, and perfection of the Christian life” (1813); Whitaker’s proposal to publish an edition of “Peirs Plouhman’s [sic] Crede”; and, subjects for reviews for the “Quarterly Review”.
