Folios 1-2 : indenture, 1828, between Washington Irving and John Murray II : the sale by Irving to Murray of the copyright in "A history

of the life and voyages of Christopher Columbus";

folio 3 : indenture, 1829, between Washington Irving and John Murray II : the sale by Irving to Murray of the copyright in

the "Chronicles of Granada";

folios 4-5 : cancelled agreement, 1835, between Washington Irving and John Murray II : Murray to have borne the whole cost of

printing and publishing "A Tour on the Prairies";

folios 6-8 : indenture, 19 August 1850, between Washington Irving and John Murray III confirming the purchase by John Murray II of

the ownership of the copyright in Irving`s works : "The Sketch Book"; "Bracebridge Hall"; "Tales of a Traveller"; "Voyages

and discoveries of the companions of Columbus"; "A tour in the Prairies"; and, "Abbotsford and Newstead Abbey";

folios 9-11 : power of attorney, 21 August 1850 : Washington Irving`s appointment of John Murray III as his attorney;

folios 12-14 : affidavit, 27 September 1850, sworn by Ebenezer Irving stating the date of first publication in America of various works by

Washington Irving;

folios 15-16 : memorandum of agreement, 27 August 1851, between John Murray III and H.G. Bohn : the sale by Murray to Bohn of the

ownership of the copyright in Washington Irving`s works : "The Sketch Book"; "Bracebridge Hall"; "Tales of a

Traveller"; "Life and voyages of Columbus"; "The Conquest of Granada"; "The Companions of Columbus"; "Tour in the

Prairies"; and, "Abbotsford and Newstead";

folios 17-29 : 6 September 1851 : "certificates of entries [of publications by Washington Irving] in America"; and,

folio 30 : 12 September 1851, "certificate of entry [of the publication `A Tour on the Prairies` by Washington Irving] in United

States".
