Scope and Contents

The manuscript consists of copies of official correspondence, 1808-1809, concerning the proposed survey of north-west Gujarat and the unsettled state of Kutch. There is also an exchange of apparently private letters, September-December 1809, between Captain Monier Williams, Surveyor General, and Alexander Walker about mutual cooperation and how the survey might be carried out.
