Scope and Contents

The contents are as follows.

(i) Campaign of 1704. Order of march, probably for the troops commanded by Lieutenant-General Charles Churchill, from Bedburg to the Danube and Blenheim, and back to Weissemburg, 20 March-12 September. (Page 1.)

(ii) Campaign of 1705. Order of march from the Maas to Herzogenrath, 15-16 May, and from the Moselle through the Eifel to the union with Overkirk's army near Haneff, 19 June-12 July; for movements connected with the attack on the lines of the Geete, 17-19 July, and Marlborough's projected attack on the Yssche, 15-29 August; and for other movements in the present Belgium, 18-28 September, 20-23 October, 4-6 November, with an order regarding marauders (page 123). (iii) Campaign of 1707. Order of march for various movements in Belgium, 26 May-1 June, 10-14, 31 August, 7 September, 11-14 October. A sheet inserted after page 270 contains the order of battle of the allied army at Soignies, 21 August. (Page 215).

(iv) Campaign of 1708. Order of march for various movements in Belgium and Northern France, some connected with the siege of Lille, 29 May, 22 July, 12 August, 27 August-1 September, 17 September, 9 October; with an order of Tilly, dated Lens, 24 July, for a detachment to enter Picardy (page 277), and a disposition for an escort to convoy heavy artillery from Menin to the Army, 19 August (page 281).
