(i) Political papers, 1605-1653, including a bill of charges at Woolwich dockyard, 1618; a letter, 1633, superscribed by Charles I, to the Earl of Morton concerning the Earl of Buccleuch's ward; report, 7 May 1634, into abuses in the Exchequer; memorandum, 1636, concerning Anglo-Scottish trade; ‘a relatione of the earll of Hartfell his carrigge in the bussinese of Dumfries’, 1644; account of the customs, 1647-1648; and a roll of the proportion of 1200 foot raised from the sheriffdom of East Lothian for the expedition to England, 1648 (folio 1);

(ii) Miscellaneous papers, 1608-1648, undated (folio 30).
