The contents include: letters of Sir Walter Scott to various correspondents; the 'Advertisement' to the first edition of 'Rob Roy'; and an 'Extempore poetical dialogue betwixt two Edinr. shopkeepers', 1822, in Scott's hand; letters to Scott of Matthew Weld Hartstonge, Maria Edgeworth, and Sir Robert Peel; and correspondence, 1838, of Lockhart and Peel on busts of Scott.
