The Saltoun Parliamentary Trust was established by Act of Parliament in 1832 (2 & 3 Gul.IV, cap.23), with the objects of selling parts of the entailed estate (Upper Keith, Monkrig, and Milton House and adjacent land in the Canongate, Edinburgh) to pay for improvements already carried out (see MSS.17246-17247). These papers concern the establishment of the Trust, its actions in selling Upper Keith and Monkrig and excambing Milton House with West Pencaitland, and the lands in question.

  • Separated Materials
