Scope and Contents
Correspondence of the estate factors (chiefly Henry and Henry M Davidson, sheriff-clerks of Haddington), who dealt with the management of the estate of Saltoun, the feuing and leasing of property in Edinburgh (see also MS.17475), and increasingly with all the family finances.
Their correspondents are mostly members of the family, tenants and prospective tenants, lawyers, and tradesmen.
There are few letters for 1827, 1833, and 1837 and none for 1838-1842.
