  • Scope and Contents

The seventeenth-century papers mostly concern Sir George Fletcher and the military contributions of the parish of Saltoun in the Civil War, the eighteenth-century ones are largely copies of commissions and warrants of office in the royal gift, apparently collected to act as models for renewal; but there are also papers concerning Holyroodhouse, local government, the disarming of the Highlands, Leith Harbour, the price of meat, trade with the American colonies, the censorship of newspapers, etc.
