From the Series:

Nina, Countess of Minto was the daughter of General Sir Thomas Hislop and granddaughter of Hugh Elliot. Lady Minto's papers reflect her wide ranging interests. She was the author of ‘A memoir of the Right Honourable Hugh Elliot’, of ‘Life and letters of Sir Gilbert Elliot, First Earl of Minto, from 1751-1806’, and of ‘Life and letters of Sir Gilbert Elliot, First Earl of Minto, from 1807-14’. Her papers contain much material relating to these publications and also to her unpublished works. In addition, the correspondence includes discussion of all the questions of the day great and small as well as a good deal of information on political matters.
