The contents are as follows.
(i) Typescript copies of Duncan McPherson's letters to his parents describing a journey by train and car from New York to San Francisco and back, 1937. (Folio 1.)
(ii) Typescript description by Duncan McPherson and his companions of a trek in the hills of South India, 1940. (Folio 111.)
(iii) Typescript description of a trek in Kashmir, 1941. (Folio 128.)
(iv) Typescript copies of Duncan McPherson's letters written on an expedition in Sikkim, 1942. There are two versions. (Folio 133.)
(v) Letter of Duncan McPherson to his parents and a typescript describing an attempt to climb Chumbu in Sikkim, 1944. Descriptions of this expedition were published in ‘The Scottish Mountaineering Club Journal' xxiii (1946), pages 356-357, and ‘The Himalayan Journal’ xiii (1946), pages 102-104. (Folio 172.)
(vi) Typescript description of the trek in Kashmir, 1941. This is considerably fuller than the version in (iii). (Folio 210.)
