The contents consist of an excerpt from the Parliament of Oceana, Glasgow University, admitting Lord Cardross (afterwards Earl of Buchan) as an Honorary Member, 1761 (folio 42); a letter of John Knox, the philanthropist, to the Earl of Buchan, on his pamphlet, ‘A view of the British Empire, more especially Scotland, with some proposals for the improvement of that country, 1784, which he was then writing, 1783 (folio 43); anonymous letter to the Earl, proposing a scheme for rescuing the crews and cargoes of wrecked ships, undated (folio 44).
