The papers include a copy of a letter of Adam Ferguson (afterwards Professor) from Vilvoorde Camp, 1745 (folio 25); an account of the Sepoy mutiny at Vellore of 1806, by an eyewitness (folio 97); notes on Rhodes ‘to save Sir Walter the trouble of looking out for information’, with sketches, by Sir William Gell, 1832 (folio 147); and notes on Indian manners supplied by Colonel James Ferguson for the “Surgeon’s daughter” [?1827] (folio 165).
