They include some historical documents (originals and contemporary or later copies)—deeds relating to the College Kirk of Dunbar, 1342, and the Swintons of that Ilk, 1401; a sheet, apparently torn from a letter-book, being contemporary copies of letters of James VI, [1594-?1595/1596]; a copy of a letter of Charles I, appointing Sir Lewis Stewart, of Strabroc, Justice-General of Scotland, undated; a modern list of books and pamphlets relating to Scotland printed at the time of the Rebellion; ‘The Scots Youth Instructed’, etc. (probably a copy of a pamphlet on the Union); and complaints against the Government given in to a Committee of the Associate Presbytery at Burntisland, 1738.
