George Davie, who lectured on philosophy at Queen's University, Belfast, and later at Edinburgh University, gives his impressions of Ulster, and discusses his reading, literature in general, his own work on Scottish universities in the 19th century, and the possible publication of Sutherland's ‘Jephthah’ by Edinburgh University Press in 1956.
