Letters of the poet and journalist Sydney Tremayne to Robert Garioch Sutherland., 1966-1973.
Scope and Contents
This is a lively correspondence, consenting on daily occurrences in Sydney Tremayne's life and on his family affairs and memories. There are numerous discussions of poetry, especially of Robert Garioch Sutherland's and Tremayne's own work, and criticisms of modern poets. Tremayne moved from Kent to Gairloch in 1976, and there are many descriptions of local people and incidents in his life there. A few of the blank versos were used by Sutherland for writing notes or poems.
