Scope and Contents

The contents are as follows. (i) Private letters of Granville Leveson Gower, Earl Granville, Ambassador at Paris, 1832-1834, on French policy, especially towards Belgium and Italy (folio 1); (ii) Private letters of Sir Frederick Lamb, later 3rd Viscount Melbourne, Ambassador at Vienna, 1832, 1834, with drafts of two letters of the 2nd Earl of Minto (folio 16); (iii) Private letters of Sir Henry Watkin Williams Wynn, Envoy and Minister at Copenhagen, 1832, 1834 (folio 32); (iv) Letter of Henry Canning, Consul-General at Hamburg, 1834 (folio 39); (v) Letters and papers from Alexander Gibsone, Consul at Danzig, 1833-1834, on British Consuls' rights to note legal protests in Prussia and the departure from Danzig to America of Polish revolutionary refugees (folio 41).
