Scope and Contents

The contents are as follows. (i) Miscellaneous notes by the 4th Earl of Minto, some on military matters, undated, (folio 1); (ii) Miscellaneous papers, 1898-1902, undated, including a list of subscriptions paid by the Governor-General, the accounts of St Bartholomew's church, Ottawa, 1901, and a note of the native population of Canada divided by tribes (folio 25); (iii) Miscellaneous addresses, many presented during the 4th Earl's visit to the West in 1900. These have not been indexed in detail (folio 51); (iv) The first two chapters of a narrative of the 4th Earl's Governor-Generalship by Sir Edward Hutton, 1923 (folio 218).
