(i) Reports and correspondence concerning the acceptance by the Royal Society of Edinburgh of Baron Hume's bequest and the granting of access to the papers to John Hill Burton, 1839-1844. There is a list of these papers, which are not included in the calendar, at the beginning of the volume. (ii) Miscellaneous manuscripts not by David Hume, 1746-1766, undated, including verses, a character of Hume, papers on mathematical principles, and historical statements by the Earl Marischal.
