88 folios. The two volumes contain two sections, one inverted against the other, each running from an end of the volume to the centre. Each of cover has been labelled: on the front cover ‘Black Regiment’; on the back cover ‘Subsistence’. The order of the foliation has been determined by the structure of the volume as evidence by the watermarks. The foliation is as follows: Stubbs, folios 1-3;

‘Black Regiment’, folios 4-36;

Blank folios, folios 37-43;

‘Subsistence’, inverted, folios 88 verso-44 verso.
