Scope and Contents

This series contains typescripts of, and associated working papers for, introductions written by Ian Rankin. The working papers include development and editorial notes. Administrative papers and correspondence relating to some of the works are also included.

The introductions are arranged in three sequences based on the work being introduced: ‘Introductions by Ian Rankin to his own works’, ‘Introductions by Ian Rankin to literary works of others’, and ‘Introductions by Ian Rankin to non-literary works of others’.

Introductions by Ian Rankin to his own works. Folios 1-47.

Entries are arranged into two sequences based on the series of novels: ‘Rebus Novels’ and ‘Other Novels’. Under each sequence, the entries are arranged alphabetically by the title of the corresponding work. Entries are all typescripts, some in emails, and some with author’s annotations.
