Arrangement

Papers in this section have been arranged, as far as possible, in chronological order, first by letters of Forbes, then by letters to Forbes. Forbes kept his letters to Hunter and Herries on banking matters separate, and this separation is reflected in the ordering of the letters. A selection of miscellaneous material relating to Forbes has been added to the end of the sequence and arranged chronologically.
