Scope and Contents
There are two sets of copies here. The first set is a continuation of those manuscript copies available at MSS.43461-43462 and cover the letters of Lord Byron to Douglas Kinnaird for the years 1823-1824. The second set of copies are typescript copies of selected letters of Byron to Kinnaird between 1818 and 1822. Both sets are undated, so have been arranged in their sets in chronological order by date of the original letter.
Manuscript copies of letters of Lord Byron to Douglas Kinnaird with three to John Cam Hobhouse and one to David Grant from 1823: folios 1-77;
Manuscript copies of letters of Lord Byron to Douglas Kinnaird from 1824: folios 78-85;
Manuscript copies of letters of Lord Byron recorded as “unknown date” – one probably to Clara Mary [Claire] Clairmont, 1816, and the other to the editor of a Venice newspaper, 1817: folio 86-89;
Original wrapper for the manuscript copies: folio 90;
Typescript copies of selected letters of Lord Byron to Douglas Kinnaird from 1816-1822, including a list of the dates of the letters: folios 91-129.
