Scope and Contents
There are here three sets of proofs for Canto IV of ‘Childe Harold’s Pilgrimage’ bound together for, with notes and annotations.
Two notes relating to the proofs, stating that one set was sent to Venice and contains the notes of William Gifford and Lord Byron: folios i-ii;
First set of proofs of Canto IV of ‘Childe Harold’s Pilgrimage’ containing stanzas I-the beginning of LXXXII, with notes and annotations including some of Lord Byron: folios 1-24;
Second set of proofs of Canto IV of ‘Childe Harold’s Pilgrimage’ containing two copies of the preface, stanzas I-CLXXXIV, with a small number of notes: folios 25-85;
Third set of proofs of Canto IV of ‘Childe Harold’s Pilgrimage’ containing the preface and stanzas I-CLXXXIV, with notes and annotations, including some of Lord Byron: folios 86-144;
