The albums, with their captions and commentaries, provide a detailed account of Dr Irvine's wartime experiences and, in particular, his life in Kenya from his arrival at Chogoria in 1922 to his retirement in 1961. The albums contain photographs of the Chogoria Home, School, Mission, Church and Hospital, together with the Irvine family and other groups. Later albums cover the Presbyterian Church of East Africa's development plan, which concentrated resources on the Chogaria Hospital, and Dr Irvine's years in retirement in Nairobi.
