Arrangement

The letters of folios 1-25 were originally contained in an album of autographs, but were removed while at Sotheby's, London. The empty album was returned to the owners and does not form part of the collection held at the Library. These letters have been arranged alphabetically by recipient, and chronologically where there is more than one letter to the same recipient.

The letters of folios 26-50 were originally part of a volume of correspondence between Sir Walter Scott and John Murray. These letters have been removed from the volume, but the order of the letters has been retained as the order they appeared in the volume.

The poetry and prose of Sir Walter Scott have been added to the end of this volume.

General

Blavatnik Honresfield Library. After the acquisition in 2021 of the Honresfield library the collection was distributed between various institutions. Collectively the holdings across those institutions are now known as the Blavatnik Honresfield Library in recognition of the generosity of Sir Leonard Blavatnik in supporting the acquisition.
