Documents, mostly discharges on small financial transactions, of the family of Argyll from the 7th to the 9th Earl., 1637-1677.

 Series
Identifier: Ch.2448-2474

Scope and Contents

They documents include: a receipt, 1633, of Edward Norgate, Windsor Herald, for payment for his work on a pedigree for Lady Isabella de Campbell (Ch.2448), and a copy of a royal warrant, 1677, authorizing Adolpho Esmith (sic), a German, to raise a wreck at Tobermory for the 9th Earl (Ch.2474).

The Sir David Cuningham who figures as an agent in many of the transactions is probably the Baronet of Auchinharvie, created in 1633, since he is described in Ch.2473 as `Cofferer to the Prince`.
