Scope and Contents

Some leaves are missing from the beginning of the volume.

The contents are as follows:

(i) Fragment of a declaration against those who accepted the Declaration of Indulgence (folio 1);

(ii) A declaration of 'the poor society of Tindwall' against William III, the established Presbyterian Church, and the defection of Alexander Sheilds, William Boyd and Thomas Linning (folio 10);

(iii) 'Some causes of Lords contraversie, holding forth some few steps of the present defectione ...'; apparently an amplification of (ii) (folio 22);

(iv) 'The protestation Apoligitick declaration and Admonitory vindication ...', dated at Sanquhar, 6 November 1695 (folio 44 verso);

(v) Copy of a letter by James Renwick, undated, detailing the questions to be put to persons desirous of entering the Societies of the Covenanters (folio 48);

(vi) Another copy of (iii) (folio 55).
