Arrangement

The papers have been rearranged on several occasions. The Society itself used more than one filing system, and some of the papers were later rearranged by the Scottish Record Office. The present arrangement is based on that of the Scottish Record Office, which is by subject groups arranged alphabetically. There is, however, some overlapping: for example, presscuttings may be found both under that heading and under the subject to which they refer, for example 'Awards'. (eg Awards).

Immediate Source of Acquisition

Deposited, 1987, by the Saltire Society.

Related Materials

Papers relating to the Patrick Geddes Award for town planning have been transferred to the Patrick Geddes Centre for Planning Studies, the Outlook Tower, Castlehill, Edinburgh. Photographs for awards in art in architecture, civil engineering and housing are held by the National Monuments Record of Scotland.

The index is arranged alphabetically with file references shown in brackets.
