The manuscript was formerly in the library of Sir Thomas Phillipps, being sold at Sotheby`s June 1893, lot 668. It was subsequently bought by the Advocates’ Library, Sotheby`s, 11 June 1898, lot 1003.

Presented, 1925, by the Faculty of Advocates to the nation on the foundation of the National Library of Scotland.
