 Item
Identifier: Adv.MS.18.5.8

Scope and Contents

(i) Aphthonius Sophista, Προγυμνάσματα. (Folio 1).

Apparently not otherwise known. (Folio 29).

The dates Δεϰεμβρίῳ 24 and Μαρτίῳ θ occur on folios 29 and 86 verso. On folio 85 verso is the note `Cum agere profeta Isaias de timo redi uiue incuit diui tue salutis`. Former pressmark: W.7.32.

The manuscript was probably written in North Italy and is by one hand, although section (i) was probably separate originally.

The date of the manuscript has been suggested by the watermarks of the paper, which are all Venetian, late sixteenth century. In gathering 1, compare with Briquet 555; elsewhere, compare with Briquet 765-770.
