Scope and Contents

The contents of the manuscript are as follows:

(i) `A Catologue [sic] of Bookes to be sold by auctione at the D[?] of M[?] Lodgeings in St James`s`. A list of apocryphal titles, probably drawn up as part of a satire on Sarah, Duchess of Marlborough. (Folio 1.)

(ii) Copy of ‘Asserti Scotiae cives sui’ by Thomas Dempster. The leaves containing pages 8-9 and 50-52 of the printed text are missing. (Folio 3.)

(iii) List of books printed before 1500, copied from a larger work. Endorsed `with Mr Ruddiman`s notes upon Mattaire`. (Folio 47.)

(iv) `Memoriall concerning the Royall Seals of Scotland`. (Folio 53.)

(v) List of manuscripts and charters belonging to David Symson, 1712. (Folio 56.)

The signature of John Dillon, secretary of the Maitland Club, occurs on folio ii, and there is a contents list in his hand (folio iii).
