Transcripts written for Lieutenant-General G H Hutton of documents extracted from the Glasgow cartularies and of some other writings.
Scope and Contents
These transcripts were written, on sheets watermarked 1796, for Hutton, whose signature dated 1797 is at folio ii (torn), and are followed (folio 95) by the contents list (described as an index) compiled by the copyist of British [Museum] Library Harl.MS.4631.

Presented, 1925, by the Faculty of Advocates to the nation on the foundation of the National Library of Scotland.
Existence and Location of Originals
The manuscript was copied from British [Museum] Library Harl.MS.4631, volume i, numbers 4-6 (cf. Cosmo Innes`s pencil note at folio i verso), which items are themselves copied from Adv.MS.34.4.5 (cf. ‘Medieval Cartularies of Great Britain’, page 133).
The Glasgow cartularies (formerly Acc.10301, numbers 1-2) are now at the Scottish Catholic Archives.
