Collection of sayings and anecdotes entitled 'Collectanea Apophthegmatum', compiled by Lauchlan McIntosh.
Scope and Contents
The entries are collected chiefly from classical sources and are arranged, alphabetically as far as possible, under an alphabetical sequence of headings. The collection is followed by a description of Jerusalem before its destruction by Vespasian (folio 130), a descriptive list arranged alphabetically of the places mentioned in the Old Testament, with their distances from Jerusalem in English miles (folio 138), and a similar list of the places mentioned in the New Testament, preceded by notes on various biblical topics (folio 149). The sources of all these compilations remain unidentified.
