The papers include, among other matter: 'Reveries of an officer pent up in a transport ... 1806', being ideas on arms and equipment; letters, 1842, 1845, 1849, on uniforms; correspondence, 1817-1818, about a complaint made against the 85th Foot by the Magistrates of Chester; correspondence, 1865, 1868, about Sir George Brown's letters and papers; and a scheme, undated, for the transport of certain regiments.
