The transcripts were part of a collection owned by the late C K N Ballantyne, Sandbed House, Yarrow, Selkirkshire, who bequeathed to the Library a selection, of which the remainder are kept in the Department of Printed books. Each volume has Ballantyne’s bookplate pasted inside the front cover.
